Multi-Zone Residential Hybrid Solar Installation – Katsina

Project Overview

Three Independent Power Zones • 24 kW Combined Inverter Capacity • 28.52 kWp JinkoSolar PV • 60 kWh BlueCarbon Battery Storage

This large residential installation in Katsina was engineered as a multi-zone hybrid energy system, with separate inverter, battery and PV configurations serving different sections of the residence. The architecture combines a parallel inverter system for the primary section with two additional independent Growatt-based sections.

Section 1 – Primary Residential Zone

  • Inverters: 2 × Growatt 6 kW hybrid inverters connected in parallel — 12 kW combined capacity
  • Battery Storage: 2 × BlueCarbon 15 kWh LiFePO₄ batteries — 30 kWh total nominal storage
  • Solar PV: 30 × JinkoSolar 620 W modules — 18.6 kWp installed PV capacity
  • Architecture: Parallel Growatt inverter configuration providing coordinated supply to the primary section of the residence

Section 2 – Independent Residential Zone

  • Inverter: 1 × Growatt 6 kW hybrid inverter
  • Battery Storage: 1 × BlueCarbon 15 kWh LiFePO₄ battery
  • Solar PV: 8 × JinkoSolar 620 W modules — 4.96 kWp installed PV capacity

Section 3 – Independent Residential Zone

  • Inverter: 1 × Growatt 6 kW hybrid inverter
  • Battery Storage: 1 × BlueCarbon 15 kWh LiFePO₄ battery
  • Solar PV: 8 × JinkoSolar 620 W modules — 4.96 kWp installed PV capacity

Overall Installed Capacity

  • Total Inverter Capacity: 24 kW across the three residential power zones
  • Total Solar PV: 46 × 620 W JinkoSolar modules — 28.52 kWp
  • Total Battery Storage: 4 × 15 kWh BlueCarbon batteries — 60 kWh nominal storage
  • Protection: Complete required AC, DC and PV protection installed across the system
  • Scope: Multi-zone electrical design, PV installation, parallel inverter integration, independent-zone inverter and battery integration, electrical protection, system configuration, testing and commissioning

Engineering Approach

The residence was divided into three power zones to match the electrical distribution and load requirements of different sections. The primary zone uses two Growatt 6 kW hybrid inverters operating in parallel, while Sections 2 and 3 each operate on a dedicated 6 kW Growatt inverter and separate 15 kWh battery. This architecture provides clear load segregation, operational flexibility and reduced interdependence between different parts of the property.

Project Outcome

The completed installation delivers a substantial residential energy platform with 24 kW of combined inverter capacity, 28.52 kWp of solar generation and 60 kWh of lithium battery storage. The three-zone architecture provides scalable, resilient power distribution across the residence while maintaining independent control of the individual sections.
