17 kW Dual-Zone Hybrid Solar Installation – Zamfara
Project Overview
Two Independent FIRMAN Hybrid Systems • 17 kW Combined Inverter Capacity • 16.74 kWp JinkoSolar PV • 20 kWh Felicity Battery Storage
This office solar project in Zamfara was designed around two fully independent hybrid power systems, with each inverter dedicated to a different section of the office building. The arrangement allows each zone to operate on its own inverter, PV array and battery bank, improving load separation, operational flexibility and fault isolation.
System 1 – Office Zone A
- Hybrid Inverter: 1 × FIRMAN FH6K011 6 kW Smart Hybrid Inverter
- Solar PV: 9 × JinkoSolar 620 W modules — 5.58 kWp installed PV capacity
- Battery Storage: 1 × Felicity Solar 10 kWh lithium battery
- Application: Dedicated supply to one section of the office building
System 2 – Office Zone B
- Hybrid Inverter: 1 × FIRMAN FH11K0110 11 kW Hybrid Inverter
- Solar PV: 18 × JinkoSolar 620 W modules — 11.16 kWp installed PV capacity
- Battery Storage: 1 × Felicity Solar 10 kWh lithium battery
- Application: Dedicated supply to a separate section of the office building
Overall Installed Capacity
- Total Inverter Capacity: 17 kW across two independent hybrid systems
- Total Solar PV: 27 × 620 W JinkoSolar modules — 16.74 kWp
- Total Battery Storage: 20 kWh nominal lithium storage
- Protection: Complete required AC and DC protection installed and intact for both systems
- Scope: PV installation, inverter and battery integration, load segregation, electrical protection, system configuration, testing and commissioning
Engineering Approach
Rather than operating the two inverters as a parallel system, the office electrical loads were deliberately segregated into two independent power zones. Each zone has its own inverter, PV array and battery bank. This architecture reduces interdependence between the two sections, simplifies load management and allows one system to continue supporting its assigned area independently of the other.
Project Outcome
The completed installation provides the office with a combined 17 kW of hybrid inverter capacity, 16.74 kWp of solar generation and 20 kWh of lithium battery storage, distributed across two independently operated energy systems. The result is a flexible, resilient office power solution with clear load segregation and complete system protection.
